Oskarjevec Asghar Farhadi (Ločitev, Trgovski potnik) svojo značilno mešanico psihološkega trilerja in družinske drame s Penélope Cruz in Javierjem Bardemom v glavnih vlogah tokrat umesti v idilo španskega podeželja.

Asghar Farhadi’s eighth film Everybody Knows, which opened this year’s festival in Cannes, once again explores the complicated and changing nature of interpersonal relationships. Laura travels from Buenos Aires, where she lives with her husband and children, to attend her sister’s wedding. The initial excitement is clouded by an incident whose consequences uncover much pain that was supposed to have been forgotten. The film’s characters are forced to come to terms not just with their own past, but also with the people around them, who often condemn without any deeper attempt at understanding. Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem excel in this meticulously crafted psychological drama set amidst the picturesque scenery of a small Spanish village.
