IGOR MIRKOVIĆ

je študiral politologijo na Fakulteti političnih znanosti. Od leta 1989 je delal kot televizijski novinar in urednik serij U potrazi, Javna stvar, 007 in Od 5 do 12. Poleg dela na HRT je delal tudi v neodvisnih produkcijah, od leta 1994 do 1996 pa je delal tudi za oddajo World Report na CNN. Leta 1998 je v produkciji Factum posnel svoj prvi dokumentarni film Orbanići Unplugged in se s tem zapisal filmu. Širša publika je za režiserja Mirkovića slišala leta 2001, ko je režiral film Novo, novo vrijeme skupaj z Rajkom Grlićem. Leta 2003 je posnel dokumentarec Sretno dijete o razcvetu novega vala v nekdanji Jugoslaviji, 2012 pa posnel prvi celovečerec Noćni brodovi. Za svojo dokumentarne reportaže, prikazane na televiziji, je bil nagrajen tako na Hrvaškem kot v tujini.

Igor Mirkovic was born on September 16, 1965 in Zagreb (Croatia). He is a writer and director, known for Nočni brodovi (2012), Krupni otpad (2008) and Balavica (2013). Since 1989 he has been working as a TV reporter and editor (for HRT). He also worked for independent productions and from 1994-1996 for World Report on CNN. His first documentary Orbanići Unplugged was produced in 1998. In 2001 he directed film Novo, novo vrijeme together with Rajko Grlić. In 2003 he directed a documentary film Sretno dijete. In 2012 he completed his first feature film Nočni brodovi. He was awarded both in Croatia and abroad. He is director of the Motovun Film Festival, which celebrated this year 20 years.
